Not long ago, I received one of those emails that makes me pause.
It was from a past client. When we wrapped up working together months earlier, she hadn’t yet landed the role she was hoping for. She was still in the waiting, still in the work.
Then, just as I always knew it would, the message arrived:
She got it.
Her dream job.
But what stayed with me wasn’t just the fact that she succeeded—it was how she described the journey.
“I had to learn to step back and trust in the universe’s timing,” she wrote.
“The Universe is always supporting my efforts.”
Yes. Yes. YES.
Because here’s the truth that most people miss when it comes to career growth (or life growth, honestly):
It’s not just about hustling harder. It’s about learning the delicate rhythm between action and surrender.
The Dance of Co-Creation
We’re so good at showing up.
Sending the email.
Applying for the job.
Asking for the coffee chat.
Practicing daily meditation.
Taking the action.
But then?
We grip the results.
We overthink.
We try to force outcomes.
Here’s the reminder most of us need:
After the action comes the surrender.
Act. Surrender. Act. Surrender.
This is the natural dance of co-creation.
It’s easy to practice this in personal areas of life—manifesting, relationships, health—but when it comes to our careers, we often forget.
We tell ourselves that if we work hard enough, we can control outcomes. But the truth?
We’re in the showing up business, not the results business.
Your Role Is Simple
Your job is to show up.
Do the work.
Take the next aligned step.
Trust the process.
The outcome of your efforts?
That’s not your responsibility. That’s the universe’s.
So if you’re feeling stuck right now—waiting for a job offer, clarity, or your next opportunity—pause. Ask yourself:
- Am I trying to control the result?
- Where can I let go and trust the timing?
And remember:
The results are none of your business.
Your work is to show up and let go.
If you’re ready to find that rhythm between action and surrender in your career, I’m here to help.
