When people ask me what I do, I often hesitate.
“I’m a career coach,” I’ll say.
But the truth? That doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Because coaching isn’t just about job searches, promotions, or resumes. It’s about transformation. It’s about helping people see themselves—and their worth—in a way they maybe never have before. And honestly, there’s a kind of magic that happens in a coaching session that’s nearly impossible to explain.
That’s why I was so moved when @graychlo captured the heart of this work so beautifully in her recent piece for Women’s Health that you can read here called …. She didn’t just describe coaching. She brought it to life.
She gave language to something that often feels indescribable:
- The healing that happens when you address your success wound—the false belief that your worth is tied to your achievements.
- The shift that happens when you stop defining yourself by your productivity and start recognizing your inherent value.
- The quiet, profound moment when you see yourself through a different lens—and realize you are already enough.
There’s nothing better than when someone really gets your work.
Even more so when they get it because they’ve been changed by it.
This is the work.
Helping people heal.
Helping people reclaim their confidence.
Helping people step into a career—and a life—that actually feels like theirs.
And no, “I’m a career coach” doesn’t quite cover it.
But maybe, just maybe, the people who’ve felt the change know exactly what I mean.
If you’re ready to experience this shift for yourself, let’s talk.
